The Office of the Provost is pleased to announce that this year’s Tufts Century Ride will take place on Friday, September 18, 2015! The Tufts Century Ride is approximately a 100 mile bike ride open to the entire university community with stops on the Medford/Somerville, Grafton, and Boston campuses.
Linda M. Abriola, Dean of the School of Engineering, has been appointed to the position of University Professor. The title of University Professor is the highest academic honor conferred by Tufts University and is reserved for senior faculty of significant stature in their respective disciplines who are also exemplary citizens of the university community.
John G. Morris has been selected as the University’s new Director of Athletics. His appointment will become effective on June 15.
James M. Glaser, professor of Political Science, has been selected as the new Dean of the University’s School of Arts and Sciences, Tufts’ oldest and largest school, following an extensive international search.
After a comprehensive search, Dr. Mark Brimhall-Vargas will join Tufts as the University’s Chief Diversity Officer and Associate Provost on April 6, 2015. The position of the Chief Diversity Officer supports the University’s commitment to diversity, inclusion, and cultural competency.
On Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2015, students, faculty and staff on all three Tufts campuses joined together in exploring a range of critical issues surrounding race, inequality and action.
Award winning author, Harvard Professor of History, and Tufts alumna Jill Lepore, delivered a guest lecture at Tufts on February 25, 2015 on her New York Times bestselling book The Secret History of Wonder Woman.
As Vice Provost, Kevin Dunn works primarily in the area of faculty affairs.
