Incubator Sessions
Experiential and Authentic Teaching Approaches Incubator Session
.
When: June 13 from 10-11 am
Where: Zoom
Fresh from the UWTC conference on community-engaged and experiential learning, this incubator session has been designed to give faculty from across the university an opportunity to come and explore ways in which they can integrate more experiential or authentic teaching approaches into their courses. This workshop will begin with a review of the different types of teaching approaches that create possibilities for learners to connect course content to real-world applications and engage in reflective practices that lead to deeper meaning making. Faculty will have a chance to consider and explore ideas with other faculty with the goal of leaving this session with an action plan.

Annual Summer University-Wide Writer's Retreat
When: August 16 from 10-3 pm
Where: Zoom
CELT and the Office of the Vice-Provost for Research are once again hosting a remote retreat for all faculty and staff who wish to attend. If you are working on any sort of writing project- syllabus, manuscript, conference proposal, or a writing project where you need dedicated time in a supportive environment, then this writer's retreat is for you! Come for some or all of the writing block. We will begin with a check-in at 10 am where participants can set some realistic goals and intentions for the retreat. Writers will then write for 2.5 hours before taking a lunch break. Those who are interested in socializing can join a lunch group in a breakout room. After lunch, we will resume writing from 1-2:45 pm. At 2:45 pm, those who wish to check-out from the retreat can log back on to do so. The check-out enables folks to gain support and recognition for their progress. Anna Dalby from OVPR will be present throughout the retreat to provide grant-writing support.
If you are interested or wish to register, please email Dana Leeman at dana.leeman@tufts.edu. Only registered faculty and staff will receive a Zoom link to the event.
