Seed Grants for Teaching and Research
In order to foster ongoing collaboration and innovation in scholarship and teaching, the Office of the Provost sponsors two seed grant programs, Tufts Collaborates and Tufts Innovates. Through these programs, the university has supported more than 183 groundbreaking projects, including 28 in the 2016-2017 academic year.
The goals of Tufts Collaborates and Tufts Innovates are to:
- Ignite research collaboration among faculty members across disciplines; and
- Catalyze innovative ideas for learning and teaching.
Grant awards range from $500 to $50,000. A peer‐review process evaluates each proposal for its specific merit, potential for impact, and the degree to which the proposal adheres to the goals of the seed grant programs.
A new round of Tufts Collaborates and Tufts Innovates will be announced in October 2016.
