Writer’s Group for Early Career Faculty
- Are you busy?
- Do you need dedicated time for professional writing amidst your already full lives?
- Are you new to Tufts faculty or joined within the past three years?
If you answered "yes" to any or all of those questions, then the Tufts Writer's Group for Early Career Faculty may be what you've been looking for!
What is this group? The Tufts Writer's Group for Early Career Faculty is co-sponsored by Research Development in the Office of the Vice Provost for Research and the Center for the Enhancement of Learning and Teaching (CELT). It is our goal to bring together faculty to engage in writing in a structured setting where they will practice disciplined writing practices during a scheduled and protected writing time among a community of colleagues that offers accountability and mutual support.
What do you mean by professional writing? We define professional writing as any work that will contribute to the generation of knowledge and discourse in your chosen discipline or in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning. We welcome faculty who are writing or working with manuscripts for submission to professional journals, grant proposals, abstract proposals for conferences or symposia, and/or professional blogs to join us.
Who is eligible for this group? Faculty of any rank who wish to write and began teaching at Tufts in the past three years to the present are welcome.
How does it work? This group will be co-facilitated by Anna Ponzi Dalby, Senior Research Development Specialist of OVPR's Research Development, and Dana Grossman Leeman, Senior Associate Director of CELT. Meetings will be held monthly on a date and time that works for the group to ensure equal access.
