CELT Faculty Book Discussion on Generation Me by Jean M. Twenge Twenge suggests a different interpretation of some of the commonly held conceptions of the generation variously referred to as Generation Y, iGeneration, the Millenials, and in this case, Generation Me. Twenge explores the cultural and demographic forces that that shaped a generation where the individual supersedes all other concerns, and how this individual focus affects how this generations interacts with each other and with other generations. In 2002, Roby was hired to lead Northeastern University’s Center for the Study of Sport in Society. In that role Roby became an expert about bringing “positive social change through research, education and advocacy.” In October of 2007, Roby was named one of the 100 Most Influential Sports Educators in America by the Institute of International Sport.
