The Advanced CELT Scholars program is returning in Spring 2025, and we are excited to announce that we will be accepting applications for the second cohort, which premiered in 2023.

The submission deadline for this program is January 10, 2025. Click here to apply.

The Advanced Scholars program is designed around authentic and experiential teaching approaches that can lead to deep and enduring personal transformation for students, and provide them with opportunities to engage in more applied and hands-on ways in and out of the classroom.

In this program, we will consider and test out pedagogical approaches that faculty can integrate into their curriculum and teaching methods, including experiential approaches, problem-based learning, team-based learning, and reflective practices while exploring how to integrate Tufts’s educational commitment to Civic Engagement, Global Learning, Climate, and sustainability into course content, regardless of discipline.

Throughout the program, Scholars will engage in reflective practice regarding their teaching to develop increased insights about themselves as practitioners, their learners, and the most effective approaches for their learners. Participants will engage with diverse literature, participate in interactive teaching activities where they will design and practice a new teaching approach, and get supportive feedback from their peers. Like all CELT programs, participants will come from an array of disciplinary backgrounds, work across the Tufts campuses, and the academic lifespan.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • This program is open to all Tufts instructors, tenure-track and non-tenure-track, who completed either the CELT Faculty Fellows or Equity and Inclusion Fellows programs within the past 5 years.
