Tufts Century Ride – Volunteer Logistics

Information regarding the 2015 Tufts Century Ride will be announced in summer 2015. The information located on this page is specific to registered volunteers for the 2014 Tufts Century Ride, including:

VOLUNTEER INFORMATION:

Volunteer Activities
Volunteers are needed for Friday, September 19th and Saturday, September 20th to assist with setup for the Century Ride. Volunteers are also needed for assistance with the ride itself on Sunday, September 21st. As we get closer to the date more detailed information will be added to this page. Volunteers need to have a valid Massachusetts Driver’s License and be able to lift 20 pounds. Activities will include marking ride course with flags and mileage counts, staffing refreshment tables at campus stops and along the route, and providing general support to the ride and riders during the century event.

What to Bring

  • 2 water bottles
  • Money and picture ID (for emergencies only)
  • Sunscreen and sunglasses
  • Comfortable walking shoes

Ride Support
Members of the Tufts Cycling Team will serve as ride leaders and can offer assistance but volunteers will be prepared to answer questions and handle minor incidents.  Tufts vans will be on call to help riders experiencing mechanical trouble or those who become too fatigued to finish. In addition, a local bike shop will provide a support vehicle or SAG vehicle for thee riders.

Post Ride Reception
Celebrate the day with family and friends at the Finish Line Reception following the ride at approximately 5pm outside of Ballou Hall. Invite your colleagues and family to attend in support of the ride.
