Tufts University will host 19 paid student interns (ages 15-18) during summer 2024 in partnership with the City of Boston. The program is part of Mayor Michelle Wu’s expansion of Boston’s Summer Youth Employment Program. The goal is for students to gain valuable career experience and mentorship while also assisting the university with summer staffing needs.
Please note that applicants must be City of Boston residents.

Why Hire an Intern?

Hiring an intern is no cost to Tufts or your school/department, and helps your team, our host communities, and local students.

  • Increase your department’s capacity and finally finish those outstanding projects this summer.
  • Provide valuable support and work experiences for young people in our host communities.
  • Build a diverse talent pipeline and invest in Tufts’ future enrollment and workforce.

Your Time Commitment

Hiring managers must commit to daily management of intern(s) throughout the duration of the program, from July to August. In addition, they must complete HR training and conduct Zoom interviews with potential interns in April/May.
