Tufts Century Ride
Thursday, September, 6th, 2012
On August 22nd and 24th, 2012 Provost David Harris hosted a bike ride for faculty that toured Tufts’ Medford/Somerville, Boston, and Grafton campuses and included faculty from each school. The full ride was about 105 miles, with stops on each of the three campuses (i.e., Tufts Century). The ride was designed such that people could join for as much or as little as they like.
Twenty-eight faculty members joined Provost Harris for some or all of the Tufts Century Ride, with more than 10 completing the 87-mile Medford-Grafton loop, and 1 riding the full 105 miles along with the Provost. The riders were also joined by two very helpful and patient members of the Tufts Cycling Team. It was a fun two days of cycling, making and renewing connections, and seeing our three Boston-area campuses.
Provost Harris plans on making this ride a new Tufts tradition. To see the Provost’s message to the faculty, click here. Please see our Facebook page Tufts Century Ride for further information.
