Under each goal is an arrow to demonstrate the cyclic, positive impact that the we hope the program has. 1. Increase: Increase number and impact of URM faculty across the university. 2. Nurture: Nurture the conditions for our faculty to address difficult contemporary problems 3. Build a critical mass of interdisciplinary faculty in key areas of knowledge 4. Encourage and foster: Encourage and foster cooperation among an already strong faculty and staff research body 5. Create: Create innovative educational and research opportunities for our students and trainees 6. Target: Target broader arrays of research funding streams 7. Expand: Expand our racial equity efforts beyond the university
