The Academic Leadership Development Program (ALD) provides Tufts faculty with tools and skills to navigate the diverse issues that arise with academic leadership positions. The program was developed to support current and future faculty academic leaders to be able to address the challenges routinely faced in those leadership positions.\u00a0 The ALD program provides a confidential and positive learning environment to discuss topics associated with academic leadership and develop skills through applied exercises.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The program addresses a variety of topics, including coaching and mentoring, effective feedback, leading change, leading systemic change for equity and justice, and navigating politics.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Over 200 faculty have participated since it began, and has received extremely positive feedback from its participants. They report greater understanding of the multi-faceted roles as academic leaders, increased self-awareness and confidence, and an improved capacity for problem solving. They also value the important opportunity to establish an ongoing network of colleagues from across the University.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This year\u2019s program will take place over the course of the spring and summer of 2024 with a group of up to 20 academic leaders from all Tufts\u2019 schools and academic programs participating. There is some asynchronous work expected between the meetings below, including watching and responding to online content in our Canvas site.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The meetings will be held on the following days in person on the Medford Campus:\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
