E&I 2023 cohort<\/p><\/div>\n

The Equity and Inclusion Fellows Program is a semester-long program designed to bring faculty from across the university together to reflect upon ways to integrate equitable, inclusive, and anti-racist practices into their teaching.<\/p>\n

Participants will engage in the questions below through reflection and interactive workshops, discussions, and activities.<\/p>\n

  1. Who are the students in my class? How do I create a learning environment that supports and validates marginalized students?<\/li>\n
  2. What are the identities, ideas and values I hold, and how do they impact my assumptions about teaching, the students in my classroom, and the ways students interact with me and with others in the classroom?<\/li>\n
  3. How can I design a course that centers forms of knowledge and experience that have been historically silenced and excluded in our fields and disciplines?<\/li>\n
  4. How can I normalize conversations about forms of oppression and systemic and global inequities that are empowering and promotes students to be agents of change?<\/li>\n
  5. How can I develop assessments that lead to enhanced student learning as well as foster equity?<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    By the end of the program, participants will have the tools to design a course that centers equity and inclusion and will practice applying these tools to their day-to-day teaching practices.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>
