Meanwhile, students are witnessing how AI is transforming the job market, prompting all of us to ask what skills will matter most in the coming years.<\/p>\n<p>This is an opportunity to strengthen what makes Tufts education distinctive: critical thinking, authentic experiential learning, and meaningful human connection. At CELT, we're focused on practical strategies that help faculty integrate AI thoughtfully while maintaining the rigor and values that define learning at Tufts.<\/p>\n<p>Conversations are shifting to \"How do we teach effectively &amp; build resilient programs when students use AI daily?\" The most productive discussions focus on specific, actionable questions within departments and programs where faculty share common contexts and concerns.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"whitespace-normal break-words\"><strong>Curriculum relevance<\/strong>: What skills do our graduates need when AI is standard in their field? How do we update our programs accordingly?<\/li>\n<li class=\"whitespace-normal break-words\"><strong>Assessment integrity<\/strong>: Which assignments still measure what we want them to measure? Where do we need to redesign?<\/li>\n<li class=\"whitespace-normal break-words\"><strong>Learning objectives<\/strong>: Are we teaching students to think critically about AI outputs, not just use AI tools?<\/li>\n<li class=\"whitespace-normal break-words\"><strong>Professional standards<\/strong>: How do disciplinary norms around AI use affect what we teach and how we assess?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><div id=\"panel-11638-0-0-2\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_sow-editor\" data-index=\"2\" ><div\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\tclass=\"so-widget-sow-editor so-widget-sow-editor-base\"\n\t\t\t\n\t\t><h3 class=\"widget-title\">Navigating AI in Your Classroom<\/h3>\n<div class=\"siteorigin-widget-tinymce textwidget\">\n\t<blockquote>\n<p>As AI tools become more deeply embedded in how students learn, communicate, and imagine their futures, \u201cnot engaging\u201d isn\u2019t neutrality. It\u2019s a message. And our students are listening. - <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facultyfocus.com\/articles\/teaching-with-technology-articles\/ai-in-the-classroom-panic-possibility-and-the-pedagogy-in-between\/\">Demian Hemmel, Ai in the Classroom<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">As we prepare for the start of a new academic year, the AI landscape is shifting dramatically. National surveys in 2025\u00a0 report that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hepi.ac.uk\/2025\/02\/26\/student-generative-ai-survey-2025\/\">90% of students are using AI<\/a>, often in their coursework and study, while generative AI is becoming increasingly embedded in everyday tools\u2014from Google and Microsoft 365 to PDF readers and writing software. This creates an environment where both faculty and students are working alongside AI capabilities daily.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>What can you do?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>Experiment with AI:<\/b> <a href=\"https:\/\/it.tufts.edu\/generative-ai-tools\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">try out a new AI tool<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> not just to see how well it can perform on your assignments, but to see how it works, perhaps by exploring a hobby or curiosity.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Learn with your students:\u00a0<\/b>Explore how AI is impacting their learning, and what opportunities and challenges you can uncover in the discipline.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Begin updating courses<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/provost.tufts.edu\/celt\/online-resources\/artificial-intelligence\/ai-syllabus-statements\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Create &amp;
