CELT offers <\/span>consultations and coaching to help individual <\/span>faculty fu<\/span>r<\/span>ther develop their teaching skills through processes of assessment, reflection and iterative change.\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>CELT consultants can help you discuss teaching goals and to identify and strategize processes to improve areas such as course planning, presentation structure and style, discussion facilita<\/span>tion,\u00a0 assessment instruments, engaging students in a large classes and more.\u00a0 We are happy to meet with you, possibly observe several of your classes, videotape them upon request, give verbal feedback, and provide you with a final confidential written report with concrete suggestions for improvement.\u00a0 <\/span>We provide feedback that is formative.\u00a0 And, we try to meet faculty needs as they emerge- particularly when there is a crisis or external factors that necessitate that faculty make a dramatic shift in their teaching methods.\u00a0 We support faculty as whole human beings and strive to provide them with a respectful, caring, compassionate, and safe space in which to be vulnerable, authentic, and seek the help they need to provide Tufts\u2019 students with a meaningful, robust, humane, and transformative educational experience.\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n

Developing relationships built on trust & confidentiality are critical to CELTs mission of creating a culture of critically reflective teaching and leadership rooted in evidence and equity. Our work with faculty is intended for formative teaching improvement, and can be used at the individual\u2019s discretion for other purposes. Feedback provided during or following individuals\u2019 interactions with CELT are provided only to the individual.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

CELT partners with faculty to help them get started with <\/span>scholarly investigations<\/a><\/span> about their teaching.\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>The <\/span>Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL)<\/b><\/span> is a systematic engagement with research related to student learning that is published in peer-reviewed journals to advance the knowledge base of peers.\u00a0 <\/span>This page <\/a><\/span>poses a series of steps and guiding questions that may be helpful in conceptualizing your own project.\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n

CELT also consults <\/span>w<\/span>ith departments and schools<\/span>, offering <\/span>services such as curriculum mapping, workshops, and <\/span>support <\/span>for DEIJ initiatives<\/span>.<\/span><\/div>\n
