The Graduate Women of Color (GWOC) Forum is a student-run group that focuses on the academic and professional support and development of female graduate students of color. Through its programming, group participants have opportunities to engage in scholarly discussions with women faculty of color, as well as, peer mentoring and activities that develop academic and professional skills.
Since its inception, the group has hosted a number of successful events, including a luncheon for undergraduate women of color, to discuss graduate school experiences and an annual mentoring dinner with women faculty of color. This upcoming academic year, the group plans to expand to include graduate women of color from all campuses. GWOC also plans to continue its mission by hosting events such as roundtable discussions on research and mentoring discussions with both undergraduate and women faculty of color.
