As many of us recognize, Tisch College is a unique institution at Tufts and indeed in higher education in this country. Its charge to infuse the spirit and practice of civic engagement throughout the curriculum has been championed by Dean Hollister and his colleagues and widely embraced by our faculty and students. In our efforts to identify the next Tisch dean, the search committee will be inviting and considering a range of nominations from academia and the world of public service, and will be seeking input from our students, faculty, alumni, and community partners. We have engaged Storbeck/Pimentel and Associates, a professional search firm whose representatives will handle routine matters and screen applicants while also actively soliciting candidates of great interest.

The consultants at Storbeck/Pimentel have begun their outreach to help us develop the longer position specification that will outline the ideal profile and key opportunities and challenges for the next dean. If you have a nomination for the position or wish to provide input regarding the search, I encourage you to contact them at TuftsTisch@storbeckpimentel.com.

We look forward to working with the many constituencies that make the larger Tisch College community a true embodiment of the values that Tufts seeks to promote - academic excellence, social responsibility, and active citizenship.

Jamshed Bharucha, Provost and Senior Vice President
