Vincent Manno
Associate Provost, Professor of Mechanical Engineering
As Associate Provost, Professor Manno focuses on issues related to graduate education across all schools of the university. He works closely with the University Council on Graduate Education, the academic leadership of the schools, and the faculty to identify and to nurture programs of distinction that best utilize the university's unique set of disciplinary strengths. Examples of current initiatives include the Provost's Fellowships and the Water: Systems, Science and Society (WSSS) program. In collaboration with Vice Provost Newell, Professor Manno provides oversight of the university's interdisciplinary activities such as the WSSS program, the Tufts Institute for the Environment (TIE) and the Institute for Global Leadership.
Professor Manno received a Doctor of Science degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He also holds Engineer's and MS degrees from MIT and a BS from Columbia University. His field of expertise is computational thermal-fluid dynamics, especially applications in electronics cooling, thermal manufacturing and power production. In addition to his academic appointments, he has worked as a practicing engineer in the power industry.
