Integrated Lab Complex

Dear Members of the Tufts Community,

I am pleased to announce that planning for the construction of an integrated laboratory complex on the Medford/Somerville campus is underway. The complex will most likely be sited on the Boston Avenue hillside, adjacent to Dowling Hall. It will house faculty from the Biology department and from several departments within the School of Engineering. Over the next several months, a committee co-chaired by Vice Provost Peggy Newell and Vice President for Operations John Roberto, and consisting of the following members, will work with the architects to develop the program requirements for the project.

When the new Dean of Arts and Sciences is appointed, that person will serve on this committee. Susan Ernst will continue to serve on the committee as a representative of the Biology Department.

We will continue to update the community as the planning for the project progresses. Meanwhile, please send your thoughts to the Co-Chairs or the relevant Dean on the committee.
