Academic Leadership TeamUnder the supervision of the provost and senior vice president, the academic leadership at Tufts University consists of vice and associate provosts and deans, representing their respective schools within the University. These academic leaders ensure the University is of the highest quality in education, cutting-edge research and interdisciplinary programs among a diverse group of distinguished faculty, administration, staff and students. The leaders promote the academic excellence of the University by supporting the intellectual cohesiveness of Tufts' undergraduate, graduate and professional schools. In total, more than 1,700 faculty and 8,900 graduate and undergraduate students represent the Tufts' Medford/Somerville, Boston and North Grafton, Massachusetts campuses, bringing the faculty to student ratio to approximately 1-to-5. As the academic leaders continue to encourage diversity and globalization, the international student body is growing. Within the University, the student population is represented in more than 115 countries, from Australia to Zimbabwe. Among their respective fields, the University's faculty receive the highest degrees in education while continuing to be honored with accolades for their accomplishments. They serve on hundreds of professional boards, centers and institutes and are awarded with millions of dollars in grants for research and development. With the encouragement and support of the academic leaders, the faculty continues to publish, teach and work collaboratively with the Tufts student body. Deans of the Schools of Tufts University
